Our little Lola has enjoyed all the benefits of being a VCA Member for years and although we use and enjoy the benefits normally throughout the year, we were surprised the benefits also extended to after hours urgent care when Lola had an unexpected illness on a Saturday. The icing on the cake was our experience at VCA Urgent Care Addison!! What an AMAZING EXPERIENCE! The facility is a doctors office that puts my human doctors office to shame! Beautiful facility!! Dr. Anderson, Courtney, Ellie, and the entire team focused their attention on our Lola and demonstrated a true caring passion in making sure she was comfortable and taken care of, all the while making sure we had all our questions answered. The treatment and prognosis was spot on!! Lola was feeling better quickly and has been great for 5 days now!! Can’t say enough good things about these people!!’ Thank you TEAM and special Thanks to Dr Anderson. She is truly an AWESOME person and even a better Veterinarian!! Let us know how you can be Lola ‘s PCP!!! 💜
Leaving a review based on my experience in September 2024: The hospital was great with very friendly nurses and very quick to respond in our emergency. I had found a stray (Penelope) who I was trying to get back to full health and this was a recommended vet when she wasn't able to use the restroom on her own. Unfortunately, after lots of medications and testing, she wasn't getting better and, for her quality of life, it was necessary she needed to be put down. The doctors walked us through what the process would be and gave us the time we needed to spend with her. My only negative was, to the doctor who administered the euthanasia, please let the "mom or dad" stand face-to-face with their animal, not behind, and don't speak as if you're the animal in this situation. As I was already questioning, "will this be painless for her", "will it be fast", "will she be aware", and all other questions going through my head. It really haunts me still when you narrated as if you were voicing her, "Mom, I feel funny." and then she passed. I couldn't tell you at the time how inappropriate that felt because I had to process the more important loss. You'll obviously use professional judgement in each situation but please, never talk as if you're the animal in this situation again.
I took my 1 year old dog, Tucker in because he got hurt playing with a stick that had stabbed and cut underneath his tongue. They were personable, and very caring towards Tucker. They gave a reasonable itemized quote for the visit and proceeded with treating Tucker as soon as possible, especially on a weekend in the afternoon. I appreciate the staff members and Vet doctor for checking us in such short notice. Facility is very aesthetic and clean. I would take Tucker back (if needed) and recommend this emergency hospital. VCA also has a care plan for pets that’s really reliable for such visits as this. I’m so planning to enroll Tucker today. Hope this review was helpful.
I really appreciate this clinic seeing my dog, Apollo, on a Friday evening. Emma and Dr. Koleague helped us. They treated me and my extremely nervous greyhound, Apollo, with respect and kindness in a hard situation. They helped me weigh expenses and decide how to proceed. After taking an XRay which revealed a mass in Apollo’s stomach, Dr. Koleague took the time to personally call 5 vet offices around town of different calibers (different services/prices/availability) to help me decide how to proceed. This was the most helpful part of it all. It helped me understand my options and have choices on how to handle things. She even called our personal vet, which was nice, because they were able to talk through things and we were able to get a surgery done the next week there (and communication/handoff was seamless.) Both Emma and Dr. Koleague texted me the next days to check in and remind me what to do with Apollo’s meds and what symptoms to look out for. I felt like I had so much support. Even though we lost Apollo :( I will never forget the kindness from this clinic along the way. It left a lasting impact on me. I would recommend coming here if your pet is in need of emergency medical care.
My 2 year old corgi had been sick for a few days throwing up, and then on Sunday threw up blood because of course that would happen on a Sunday. The check in process for VCA was very painless, and within an hour and a half they had myself and my pup in for an examination. Courtney and dr Noland were so friendly and put both myself and my pup at ease as we went over treatment options, giving me the full rundown as well for comprehensive examination as well as “cheaper” options that could get us through the day until I could get into my normal vet. I very much appreciated their candor and straightforwardness when i was so stressed out, and I can’t emphasize enough how great Courtney was. In addition Dr Noland followed up with me the next day on additional recommendations, which was very appreciated. An emergency vet isn’t cheap, but i wouldn’t hesitate to bring my boy back here again should some emergency arise in the future. Thanks again for everything you all do!
