I am pretty new to Thai food, however, everything we ate here was delicious. The spicy scale here is from one to eight. I asked for my fried rice to be a four on the spicy scale and I was able to handle it just fine. I wished I lived a little closer to this place so I could go more often. I would reccomend this place to anyone.
I called on Friday night and placed an order - pepper steak substitute w/fried rice and add shrimp. I get this meal here all of the time. ALL THE TIME!!! Upon my arrival I was told that I would be charged for a whole other meal if I wanted to add shrimp. Like $16/$17 dollars!! I’d just ordered the same exact meal maybe 2 weeks ago. I was never given a valid explanation on why this was happening. Usually they just charge me $6/$7 dollars to add shrimp. A meal I get often when dining with Thai Star! We’re you trying to PRICE GOUGE me for simply wanting to add shrimp?!!! Again, I was just there 2 weeks ago and got the same meal. The lady who assisted me said she was new and acted as if she could care less!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! She gave me no explanation and claimed she was new. I will not be going back again. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
My favorite Thai restaurant in Addison! Not only is the food very good, but the ambiance and decor inside along with the friendly staff make it impossible not to make this a regular weekly stop for me and my family. I usually get takeout from Thai Star, sometimes through Doordash (which takes forever), and the food is always still warm and tasty when I get home. So glad to have found this gem.
This is our favorite place. We love everything we have tried on the menu and make this a weekly staple. It's all insanely amazing. The people are great, the service is amazing, the quiet ambiance is welcoming and the place just feels like home. We love it here and it is definitely our family happy place. Go and try the Pad Thai at a level 3. You won't regret it.
The food at this place is awesome. My favorite is Five Star Noodles which they have both on the lunch and dinner menus - it's my go-to and I have it pretty often when dining here. Today I had the Green Curry and it was also excellent - really good flavor. At lunch you get soup and a spring roll (and rice for some dishes). The place can be a bit hard to find so it is a bit of a hidden gem - you cannot see it from Midway Road. On Midway, north of Proton and south of Beltway (which is 1 block south of Beltline) - look for the building on the west side of the road that has Midway Point and Ferrari's Italian. Turn in on the north side of that building and go straight back (west bound) - there is another building behind the building where Midway Point is - this is the building you are looking for - Taste of Chicago is on the near end of that building and Thai Star is on the far end all the way at the back. I've been there a number of times for lunch and dinner and the food has always been awesome. They also have a pretty good selection of bottled beers...more than you would expect at a Thai restaurant. Also, lunch service is pretty quick, they do a good job taking your order quickly and getting food out fast.
