Happened to just stopped by randomly. Love the fact that there is Salvadorian and Mexican mix in selections. Has a very at-home feel to it. The family is very attentative and the food came out fast and hot. The portions were a good size. My pupusas were pretty big. Definitely recommend passing by if your are in or from the area.
Quick service to go, but my food (3 tacos, rice, beans) was cold despite quick delivery... and these are the most flavorless, bland street tacos I have ever had in my life. The barbacoa had 0 flavor. The beans were on the saltier side, but no big deal there. The limes seemed old, and extremely sour instead of pleasantly tart. Overall, I could not finish the food I ordered. Being from California and living here in Texas for 5 years, I've had a large variety of street tacos but this is the first time I've ever been truly disappointed. :(
Gio's Taqueria We came this way for a softball practice. We usually don't come this direction much. I always want to review a Mexican restaurant when I'm somewhere new. This time my wife found the place. She is starting to enjoy the reviews too. I hope this helps. ________________________________________ Food: Salsa - The salsa wasn't as chunky as I usually like it. It was watery. But, it was delicious. I don't care what I thought salsa should be. This is what salsa should be. The flavor was great. It wasn't very spicy. And it was served warm. But I are it up. Bistek tacos - The Bistek tacos were good. They weren't as good as the pork tacos. I've had better steak tacos. If I come back I'll be eating the pork tacos and crossing my fingers that they had the pork tamales. Pork tacos - The pork tacos were the best thing I tried. I dare say, the best thing on the menu. They were out of pork Tamales so maybe next time on this. But my wife and I both loved these. Rice - The rice was traditional Mexican style rice. This was a very nostalgic flavor. But they didn't make a statement here. Beans - The beans were great. These was better than traditional beans. I'm not sure what they add but it had great flavor. My wife and I both agreed on this Elote - My wife got this item. I am not a fan. She said it was okay but not great. She said the corn tasted like it was canned corn. She likes corn off the cob. ________________________________________ Review: I give Gio's Taqueria a 8.2 out of 10. I would absolutely come back here. The service was great. The atmosphere was exactly what I expect from a Mexican restaurant. The food was great.
Amazing and clean atmosphere. We didn’t dine in but came in to pick up. Service was fast and friendly. I had the burrito Classico meal with salad and fries and my friend has the cheese and chicken quesadilla with salad and fries. We also got an order of churros that were delicious filled with caramel filling. They also had sandwiches on the menu and tamales as well as a Birria option.
My hubby and I were working in the area and decided to find a very small Mexican restaurant to eat at, and we found this amazing place!!! The food was SO GOOD, especially the ground beef tacos with lime squeezed on top, and the service was impeccable!! But the thing we were most impressed by was how CLEAN it was!!! We are so used to trying places and looking around to see dust everywhere, but it was obvious that they actually pay attention to the details, not just the simple surface things. That's not something you see very much anymore. And again, the server was on point. We got the 20 taco special, which he asked if we wanted some to go, and he even staggered the to go order tacos so that they were fresh when we left. If you want a delicious meal on a clean restaurant with attentive service, but isn't packed like the larger restaurants, then this is your place. We will definitely be back when we're in the area!!!
